Electronic Sheetmetal Craftsmen of Fl., Inc. has been a privately held family owned Florida Corporation since it’s inception in 1973. Now run by the families’ second generation and working towards it’s third. My father Julius taught me everything I know. We worked together for 35 years. Running a successful business by having the vision to innovate allowed us to keep up with the competition. After serving 4 years in the U.S. Marines during World War II, and then graduating from Jacksonville Naval Ship Yard Sheet Metal School in 1944 at age 20, he moved right into General Motors Aircraft Division as the sheet metal night shift foreman.

A few short years after working in a Job shop in New England (Eugene Engineering) he quickly realized he could do it on his own and Electronic Sheetmetal Craftsmen was born in Randolph, Ma. in 1960. Rapid success allowed him to build a large plant in Stoughton, Ma. just 2 years later. He came to Melbourne, Florida to semi-retire in 1971 and he quickly saw a need for a competent sheet metal service. Luck always has everything to do with it as Rockwell Collins opened it’s doors a year later and Harris Corp. took over Radiation Inc. in Palm Bay.

We built all of the assembly tech benches for all of the Rockwell buildings in the 70’s and early 80’s. To this day they are both a couple of our best customers.We are under a 5 year consignment agreement with Rockwell Collins for over 100 different parts. We are also quite proud of the fact that we have made ALL of the flight recorder (‘Black Boxes’) hardware for L-3 communications since 1983. I think it really says something about the type of organization you are when you win contracts year after year on a competitive basis regardless of the Corporate ownership or regime changes over the years. It is the service and support we give that in the end makes the difference.
